The booster club contributed $1,000 toward the Jean Marie Dancer memorial statue, which is currently getting a “tune up” and a small repair and will be returned to city hall next week.
06
We were awarded a Pride grant to erect two billboards on Highway 54. Southwind Extension and the Booster Club provided matching funds, and the work will be done this Fall/Winter.
07
The Booster Club pledged $15,000 so far to the Playground fund. We received a grant from Ash Grove for an additional $10,000. Southwind Extension added $5,000. Elliot Hoag donated $2,215, Tom Hibbard donated $500, and the Masons have donated $2,000. Our fund is at $34,715. We are about halfway to our overall goal and applying for grants all the time.
08
The township has plans for renovating the Southeast corner of the gym and cafeteria structure. Demolition is complete and the construction of new ADA-friendly bathrooms and a shade structure will be completed as funds allow. They recently replaced all the windows on the south side and have plans to replace the roof on the cafeteria as well.
